Chinese and foreigners gathered to welcome the Chinese New Year of the Rabbit. With the development of globalization, "Chinese Spring Festival" has been widely known in the world. On January 16, a cultural exchange event titled "Shaking Hands with the World - Our Festival" was held at the Wenzhou Overseas Media Center. International friends and Wenzhou overseas communication officers were invited to celebrate the forthcoming Chinese New Year together there.

The Broadcast Exhibition of “I Love Wenzhou Season 3” Excellent Videos was also launched in these event. The event was hosted by the Information Office of Wenzhou Municipal People's Government, the Foreign Affairs Office of Wenzhou Municipal People's Government, organized by Wenzhou International Culture Association, Wenzhou People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Publicity Department of CPC Lucheng District Committee, Wenzhou Overseas Media Centre, and co-organized by Qiaotou Community, Nanhui Street. 

In the first part of the event, dozens of international friends from different countries played games, and learned to make dumplings. They said that as foreigners living in Wenzhou, this annual New Year cultural exchange event not only gives them an opportunity to learn about the rich folk culture of Spring Festival, but also brings them a feeling of belonging.

The second part of the event is the appointment of new batch of "Wenzhou Overseas Communication Officers". They were IBROHIMOV ALISHERJON from Tajikistan, Stelmakh Anna and Guseva Tatiana from Russia, Lamia Sellami from Morocco, Meita Felicia Balelang from Indonesia, Mao Bingwa Lebohang Anesu from Zimbabwe and GYLYCHLYYEV YBRAYYM from Turkmenistan.

Alisher, who is from Tajikistan, is a postgraduate student from the School of International Education at Wenzhou Medical University. He said that he loves Wenzhou. So he is fond of introducing Wenzhou to the whole world. It’s really meaningful to make more foreign people aware of this friendly city. He has participated in the Wenzhou Overseas Media Center's video-shooting many times.He keeps trying new things and experiencing traditional Chinese customs during each shooting, which give him a greater understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture.
