There are tons of special dishes,totally about fifty varieties, in Wenzhou. For instance, pine cake, duck tongue, hoof-shaped muffin, lamp pastry (a kind of deep-fried white radish pastry) and fish pill.
Wenzhou Duck Tongue: This is the most famous snack in Wenzhou. Duck Tongues are stewed and produce extremely tender texture and lingering taste. In Wenzhou dialect, the word ”tongue” sounds very similar to “duck-earn”, for which reason, duck tongue is also called “duck-earn” in Wenzhou dialect.
