"As an overseas communicator in Wenzhou, I just want to take practical action to prove that all the foreigners living in Wenzhou hope to do their parts and contribute our strengths during the epidemic outbreak. Each of us is one member of Wenzhou as same as Wenzhou people."
Percy (his Chinese name 阿达) from Ghana told the staff when he sent his recorded anti-epidemic MV to WenzhouDaily.
Percy, who is a PhD candidate in Hepatobiliary Surgery of the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, has lived in Wenzhou for more than 9 years. What’s more, he also is a son-in-law of Wenzhou and an overseas communicator in Wenzhou. As a overseas communicator, he usually actively participates in various social activities and tells others about the Wenzhou stories. Percy told us that he learned to cook Chinese food and wrote medical articles at home during last winter vacation. After the outbreak, he spread self-prevention knowledge to international students from Ghana via the Internet. At the same time, he signed up as a street volunteer of epidemic prevention to help street and community workers communicate with international students. Since February 12, he has also been on sentry duty at the village entrance of Meiquan Street, Chashan Street, Ouhai District, volunteering to take temperature measurements for in-and-out residents, spreading the knowledge of epidemic prevention & control to nearby international students.
In order to support Wenzhou and China, Percy also wrote lyrics on his own and asked teachers and friends to help him record the rap song "Percy is fighting against epidemic". He said that he loves music and hopes to use music to inspire everyone to slog through this special period together. He is more willing to use his singing voice to convey his love for Wenzhou.
