Do you know how to do waste-sorting?

"What kind of waste do you have?" asked by Bahraini volunteer Wang Zi, who was the guest of WenzhouDaily’s weekly video program filmed in Xintianyuan Community. He asked the citizens who were passing by to throw their waste this question. The theme of this episode is "Do you know how to do waste-sorting?" "The meaning of the question asked by Wang Zi in Wenzhou dialect is: What kind of waste do you have?

Wenzhou has implemented the "Urban Household Waste Classification Standard" from August 1st, which has stipulated the types of household waste, classified disposal, classified collection, classified transportation, and classified treatment. For the purpose of this episode, we hope that more international friends living in Wenzhou can follow the community workers and clearly understand waste-sorting protocol.

Wang Zi, who has been studying Pediatrics in Wenzhou Medical University, has lived in Wenzhou for seven years. He said that he recently saw a lot of dustbins in different colors along the roads, and he never understood what the different uses were among them. He found during the video-filming process that many people didn't understand what type of their wastes as the expired cosmetics, dog litter, and peanut shells should be sorted into. He also hoped to learn from community workers how to sort wastes through the program, which was a very rare opportunity. What’s more, he also wanted through the video to teach more foreign friends how to do waste-sorting well and make Wenzhou a more green, clean and environmental-friendly city in future.
