"The teacher gives a very detailed lecture on CPR first aid knowledge, which is actually practical in our daily life, and it’s taught in English. So great." On the evening of Oct. 26, 20 international friends from many countries, participated in a first aid knowledge training at Wenzhou Overseas Media Center. The event was co-sponsored by the Wenzhou People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Publicity Department of CPC Lucheng District Committee and Wenzhou Overseas Media Center. And the training was taught in English by Zhu Xiaoling, a first-class trainer from the Chinese Red Cross.

During the event, Ms. Zhu explained the importance of learning CPR first aid knowledge, "Before the ambulance comes, we must make full use of the critical rescue time, the first 'golden 4 minutes'". Then she described the specific steps of CPR, step by step in great detail. After the introduction, Ms. Zhu used a model to teach on the spot, and the foreigners enthusiastically participated in the hands-on exercises. "Learning and mastering CPR, a life-saving technique, can save most lives at critical moments. The aim of this training is not only to learn life-saving skills, but also to learn self-help skills. It’s valuable and meaningful." said Ms. Zhu.

Kimberly, a foreign volunteer at the Wenzhou Overseas Media Center (anchor of "Hai’ou Community") and one of the initiators of this event, said, "We have a great turnout tonight. I'm glad that so many people participate in the training. I hope more events like this will be held in the future. It matters because we learn knowledge as well as have a mutual communication."

It is reported that in the next stage, the organizers will launch more public welfare training for international friends, such as practical cell phone software application, Chinese language training, etc. They hope that through these events, more foreigners in Wenzhou will enjoy the service of this happy city, and integrate into Wenzhou better.
