CGTN & Wenzhoudaily Explore the Wenzhou Multicolored Stone Mosaic

On July 17, the interview team of the French channel of China Global Television Network (CGTN)  and the film crew of Wenzhou Overseas Media Center came to Yangyi Street, Lucheng District, Wenzhou to film the French video themed with "Multicolored Stone Mosaic". Vincent, a French anchor of Wenzhou Overseas Media Center and professor of Architecture at Wenzhou-Kean University, served as the guest of the show.

 

It is reported that Multicolored Stone Mosaic has enjoyed a great reputation, and the Chonglinzhai Multicolored Stone Mosaic Art Museum has a history of more than 100 years. Multicolored Stone Mosaiccraft smanship is now a national intangible cultural heritage and its inheritor, Miao Chengjin, who is also the head of Wenzhou Multicolored Stone Research Institute, has engaged in this industry for more than 60 years. Traditional multicolored stone mosaic is such a craftwork which is manufacured vis taking natural pyrophylliteas materials and processing them into pre-designed patterns, then inlaying those patterns upon mahogany or camphor wood.

During the filming, the film crew of CGTN French channel focused their lens on French anchor Vincent and listened to his story in Wenzhou. Vincent said that he enjoys working in Wenzhou so much. As an architectural designer, he hopes to continue to use his knowledge and aesthetics to integrate Western elements into Wenzhou's traditional architecture and create innovation via the collision of different thoughts, which makes him feel very satisfied. In addition, he also had the opportunity to enter the multicolored stone mosaic art museum, which gave him more knowledge and inspiration on the interior decorative art.

In the interview, the film crew also invited Vincent to check out Wenzhou Wuma Street and eat famous Wenzhou snacks.

 

This French video will be broadcast simultaneously on the CGTN French channel and the new media platforms of the Wenzhou Overseas Media Center in the near future.
