"Wenzhoudaily" launchs a video "Foreigner’s Spotlight ". You can be the protagonist! Please watch the first episode.
The "Foreigner’s Spotlight " show, created by the "WenzhouDaily" platform of Wenzhou Overseas Communication Base, is here to meet your entertainment needs. This is a program showcasing all foreigners in the beautiful Wenzhou City. We hope that through it, foreigners will be edified and share their life with us. Experience life stories of friends in China and Wenzhou, have a look at the food and culture of China and Wenzhou from the perspective of foreigners, making WenzhouDaily more beautiful, fun and easy to use.
Let’s start with the first episode, "Yangmei", and have a look at what it’s like as many foreigners taste Wenzhou’s famous Yangmei for the first time.
Yangmei is definitely a popular word in everyone's mouth at this time in Wenzhou. The topics such as "Where can I pick Yangmei?" Or, "Where can we eat the sweetest Yangmei? " are those ones everyone can't miss when friends gather together. For foreigners who have lived in Wenzhou for a long time, they aren’t ignorant to talk about this fruit. If they are new to beautiful Wenzhou, Yangmei will absolutely bring them a surprise for their tongues!
The host of this program, of course, is Wenzhou’s very own internet-celebrity Dr. Brett. He is from South Africa and has lived in Wenzhou for 8 years, at Wenzhou Medical University. Brett and his friends went to Ouhai Chashan in this episode to buy 2.5 kilograms of Yangmei. After haggling with the boss, they got a special discounted price.
We set up a small mystery box and placed Yangmei in it. Then we invited some new- international friends to taste the Yangmei while closing their eyes.
Ashton, an international friend from Africa, asked what it is as he saw the Yangmei for the first time. After taking a taste, he said it was so delicious. Then we met Rishabh. He said that Yangmei was a bit bitter but also a bit sweet after he tasted one.
