Chinese and foreign friends celebrate Dragon Boat Festival together

On June 20, a Chinese &foreign cultural exchange activity themed in "Graceful Dragon Boat Festival" was held at Wenzhou Overseas Media Center. The activity showcased the intrinsic beauty of traditional Chinese culture through guqin performance, tea performance and cheongsam show. The foreign friends also played Chinese zither and recited ancient poems, giving everyone at the scene a wonderful enjoyment featuring the blend of Chinese and foreign cultures.

This activity is sponsored by Wenzhou Cyberspace Administration and CPPCC Lucheng District Committee, and organized by "Daka China - Hai’Ou Community" Internet Communication Center, China Zhi Gong Party Lucheng District Primary Committee and Committee for Liaison with Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Overseas Chinese and Foreign Affairs of the CPPCC Lucheng District Committee. Nearly 100 guests including the anchor of "Hai’Ou Community", international friends, CPPCC members, representatives of overseas Chinese leaders and representatives of international students from Wenzhou University and Wenzhou Medical University were invited to attend the activity.

 


The activity was hosted by Percy, the anchor of "Hai’Ou Community". In addition to the wonderful artistic performances, special stalls for wrapping Zongziand making egg bags were set up at the venue, which were popular with all international friends.

 


Many international friends expressed their feelings about this interesting activity. Yuki Sato, an agronomist from Japan: "This is the first time I know that the Dragon Boat Festival has the custom of bumping eggs, it's really interesting!"

 


Fernando from Brazil said, "I enjoy today's artistic performance, especially the calligraphy, I wrote my name with a writing brush for the first time. And the tea performance is so interesting." Fernando also said spending traditional festivals together could enable foreigners to have better and closer communication with Wenzhou people. This activity is particularly meaningful.
