You can enjoy a light show with an investment of nearly RMB 600 million when you take a night cruise on Oujiang River this National Day. The most eye-catching beauty is the light waterfall on Shengmeijian Mountain Located at Sanjiang Street, Yongjia County. It will become the largest mountain light show over the world after it’s completed.

The light show, which is attached to the brightening Night-Cruise programme on the core segment of both banks of Oujiang River, is the major project for the development and construction along the Oujiang River this year. This project has been completed about 80% thus far.

The brightening Night-Cruise project on the core segment of both banks of Oujiang River is located within the boundaries of Lucheng District and Yongjia County. It starts from the Qidu Bridge in the east and reaches the Dong’ou Bridge in the west. And the south and the north are bounded by the two banks along the Oujiang River. The concrete construction contents include the front-row buildings along the two banks of the Oujiang River, the landscape belt along the River, four river-spanning bridges (Ouyue Bridge, Oubei Bridge, Dong’ou Bridge and Qidu Bridge),  Jiangxin Islets, the brightening projects as Yongjia Mountain and the like.

The project takes the unique mountains, buildings, bridges and landscapes on both banks of the Oujiang River as carriers to use these lights to interpret the magical landscapes and the embroidered human landscapes with Wenzhou characteristics, thus ushering in the new Oujiang Night-Cruise mode to create the new impression of Wenzhou with humanity, fashion and wisdom. Through the triangular perspectives from the car, the passer-by and the boat, the visitors will be able to enjoy the two paintings on the both banks of the Oujiang River, which narrate the legendary of Wenzhou on south bank and illustrate magical landscapes on north one.

However, such a brightening project is of great difficulty. According to statistics, the project gets a huge volume involving 450,000 square meters of the building exterior facade on both banks of the Oujiang River, 9.5 million square meters of mountains, 790,000 square meters of landscape belts and 10 kilometers of bridges.

At the end of April this year, the brightening Night-Cruise project was officially signed. And the construction unit invested in their strongest force to form an on-site project management team with more than 70 people. There were more than 3,000 construction workers and dozens of mules advancing hard in the cliffs and deep trenches at the rush hours to secure the light show on National Day.

As the highlight of the project, Shengmeijian Mountain includes 11 peaks with a maximum altitude of 500 meters, most of which are precipitous rock faces and sheer cliffs. The designed  light waterfall is the first pioneer in the industry which consists of 9 light curtains with a maximum width of 410 meters and a height of 72 meters. This project is very hard to construct and will become the world's largest mountain light show after completion. It is reported that the construction unit is in the process of applying for the Guinness World Records.
